Alex Sharpe

Alex Sharpe is a cybersecurity, AI governance, and resilience professional with more than 30 years of operational leadership spanning national security, management consulting, and entrepreneurship. He began his career at the National Security Agency before building practices at Booz Allen and KPMG, and went on to co-found two firms with successful exits — including The Hackett Group (NASDAQ: HCKT). He has participated in more than 25 M&A transactions and delivered engagements in nearly 30 countries across six continents.

Today, Alex advises corporate boards, teaches at the graduate level at NYU’s School of Law and Cyber Fellows Program, and supports implementation of the cross-sector resilience recommendations made to the President in the PCAST report. He is one of four primary authors of the Operational Resilience Framework (ORF), a Research Fellow at the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), and a co-chair of CSA’s Zero Trust working group.

His current board work includes the Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ (FDD.org) Center on Cyber and Technology Innovation (CCTI), High Value Target (Resilience startup), and Six3RO (Quantum startup). Across every engagement, Alex brings a pragmatic understanding of the balance between business strategy, cybersecurity, and operational effectiveness — with a particular focus on the governance of artificial intelligence (AI) and Resilience.

Alex is a certified Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and holds the NACD.CD board director certification.
